The SGM-2004 repairs/overhaul can be done by some easy steps.
Keep in mind the procedure is at own risk. If you break the machine, you done it, not me.
Start by disassemble of the Andros unit from the machine you want to fix.
Step 1 (removal top PCB):
Step 2 (removal PCB on the side, see image for hidden screw):
Step 3 (loosen and disassemble the chopper motor):
Step 4 (PCB on the side can now be slid out to the side):
Step 5 (remove PCB with heating element completely):
Step 6 (watch out with the wires when you reassemble the unit. These wires can get pinched off and short out to the cooling block):
Step 7 (Now you can see the price, the chopper motor with the mirrors):
Now you can see that the mirror is dirty. You cannot see the underside of the mirrors.
Now the mirror assembly can differ from yours. I have a few machines and this one is the first i seen with this type of mirror assembly.
All the others contain these mirrors:
Step 8 (clean the mirrors, when you do this. make sure you cannot drop the assembly. Because the order of the mirrors is really important!):
I clamp them in a little jewelry vise.
Step 9 (disassemble the gas-tube mica glass):
Step 10 (clean the mica glas, you can remove it, but when you remove it… it will be a pain in the rear-side to put it back…):
Step 11 (watch out for the heating element and do not damage it when you reassemble it (the brown strip with red wires):
Step 12 (the IR lightsource needs to be cleaned):
Now the process is to reassemble it… Which is reverse….
